The EC-Repository is the Energy Commission's digital platform by which the organisation shares:

  • Digital resources – regulatory instruments, licensing, reports, media, etc.
  • The digital content can be used to support research, learning, and administrative processes by Staff and the general public.
  • The Repository operates by centralizing and preserving the knowledge of the Commission with the purpose to make them accessible to the public

Electricity, as a versatile form of modern energy, is a critical ingredient for economic growth. Therefore, increasing the availability of, and access to, electricity at an affordable price is a high-priority objective within the national planning processes in many developing countries, including Ghana. A specific and concerted focus on enhancing Ghana’s power sector has resulted in significant gains in installed generation capacity, access to electricity (at about 84% as of the end of December 2017) since Ghana’s independence.

In addition, the Energy Commission is mandated to secure and maintain a comprehensive data base for national decision making for the efficient development and utilisation of energy resources available to the nation. In fulfilment of its mandates, the Energy Commission publishes statistics of the Energy Sector annually.
